A card for Baby

Aren’t babies simply wonderful?  It’s always a good idea to have on hand a few baby cards.  You never know when you’re going to be invited to those exciting baby showers for the new Mommy-to-be and you’ll be ready to go with your card, baby girl or baby boy!  All you need is a sweet little something for baby!  I made for you both a PINK and BLUE (keeping to traditional baby “colors”) card today and they were so much fun!

DKD wm.IMG_80181

I used my black background for them as I thought the white background was too light to really see the adorable lil’ details.  So much fun, okay here’s the details!

Debbie’s Details:

  • I used the adoring Baby’s First Framelitsp.172 Annual Catalog and they coordinate with the Made with Love and Something for Baby stamp sets!  Oh my gosh. So stinkin’ cute!  I used the little “onesie” framelit and cut out Blushing Bride and Marina Mist with it.  I then cut out the little white bib with the bib framelit.
  • For the little “daddy’s girl” onesie I heat embossed with our lovely embossing powders in White.  I used the “made with love” stamp image from Made with Love stamp set, dipped into some Versa Mark that is used for embossing and voila!  It stood out great. The first time I used it on Blushing Bride card stock onesie the white Kraft ink was too light.  So I embossed it!  Magic!    The Made with Love stamp set is such a darling stamp set, has sweet sentiments and images that will melt your heart! I promise.
  • I punched out the two sweet hearts in Whisper White card stock from the trusty ol’ OWL PUNCH!  I use pieces from that punch more than I count. Literally.
  • The little scallop collar I ran through the Big Shot guy JUST the top collar and released it and used the 7/8″ inch scallop punch and punch a bit away to create a scallop collar. Darling!!  Wrapped some white thin Baker’s twine around three times and tied a bow and placed down with a glue dot.
  • For the little guy onesie I glued the baby collar which I ran through the Big Shot guy to the Marina Mist onesie and punched a Marina Mist heart from the Owl punch and glued on with Tombow glue. I stamped “made with love” in our Kraft White ink.  I didn’t need to embossed it because it showed up vibrant and bright.
  • Designers Series Papers – (dsp) are both from the Subtles Color paper stack.  This pack will be listed below.  Both sides of our dsp stacks have different beautiful patterns on both sides!  Isn’t that just awesome blossom sauce!  Yes, it is! 🙂
  • Adhered Whisper White to each card base and then adhered the significant gender pieces to that.
  • Dimensionals!! – I POPPED UP both onesies on dimensionals! So cute in person.  It just gave a bit more pizzaaaazzz to the overall card.
  • Your ENVELOPE – Don’t forget to decorate it, too.   That would be sad if you didn’t, after all you have ink and your adorable stamp set. Use it top of your project!  Goes a long way in the “cuteness” factor!
  • These cards are 3-1/2″ X 5″ and fit into our Notecards and Envelops -5-1/8″ X3-5/8″ envelope on p.149, AC. This is the PERFECT card size for a sweet little baby gift to attach to. I chose to use colored card stock for these baby cards in lieu of using the standard White cards that come with this set.  The extra white cards I use to layer other standard A2 cards, just cut them in half with your stampin’ trimmer, stamp an image and layer on top of any color of card stock you choose to!  Or you could make your own envelope with our awesome Envelope Punch board!  It’s great, too!

Here they both are up close and personal!  We like that, don’t we, so we can see the darling-ness better!

A card of THANKS

DKD wm.IMG_79721

My card today is simply a card I want to send to someone that is very special and dear to my heart.  Thank you cards can be for many reasons, mostly for something we’ve received or for someone showing their kindness to us, or helping when we needed it, and for many other reasons.  One of those other reasons, for today’s card is a “just because” you’re fabulous card , I want to say thank you.  So I made this card for a special someone to send. Hope they like it!  Let’s get to the Debbie’s Details! 🙂

Debbie’s details:

*My designer series paper:  It’s gorgeous!  It is from the English Garden pack. So pretty and water colored and hand painted by one of our SU creative artists.  Gorgeous.

*I used the lovely Mossy Meadow card stock that matches the green in this lovely paper as my base.

*My sentiment is from the One Big Meaning stamp set. I love all the fonts in this beautiful set of “thank you” images!  I would say this should be a must have in your stash if you don’t already own it.  I bet you would agree, too, so check it out!

DKD wm.IMG_79732

*PUNCHES*  Love my punches!  They work for many, many images and are quick and easy! I like that, don’t you??     I used the 2″ for my sentiment, the 2-3/8″ for the Hello Honey scallop punch and the 2-1/2″ inch punch for my Mossy Meadow backing.  I love, love, love, my tiny little flower from the Itty Bitty pack of small punches!  You have no idea how these sweet little punched out flowers have come to my rescue when I need to add a little sumthin’ sumthin!’ AND I bet you’re wondering where the itsy bitsy Mossy Meadow “dot” came from.  My OWL punch!  It’s his little eyes!  I wanted to keep my card muted and simple and let the beautiful English Garden paper be the showcase, so I just punched an “eye” out and voila! Who would’ve thunk?

DKD wm.IMG_79743

DIMENSIONALS! – these babies POP UP your card pieces to give them dimension. Duh. You knew that, but all THREE of my punched pieces are all POPPED UP on dimensionals! It really gives your cards that special little “oomph!”    My little punched out flower got a sweet little “glue dot.” Those things stick. You can also roll them up into little “balls” and they will still where you need them to.

This completes it for my card today.  Hope you enjoyed the “Deets!”  I sure am glad you stopped by today and as always if you have any questions, just let me know.  Your comments are most welcome here.  🙂

Have a great weekend everyone and until next time, happy days and happy stampin!

A little BEAR Love

An irresistible little bear has a home in my home.   He is the sweetest.  He has a few other best friends and he is thankful.  This adorable stamp set is called Thankful Forest Friends!  It is a wonderful Fall set out of our awesome Holiday catalog that has a two beautiful sentiments I think you will like.

DKD wm.IMG_79701

This little guy just wants to stop by and spread his loveable bear love to someone he is quite fond of.  Maybe it’s you, you never know!  If you’re reading this, he may pay a visit sometime real soon.

Today’s card is mostly about “layers.”  Started with Early Expresso (I can’t wait to have mine in the early morn tomorrow, too late tonight), then layered Very Vanilla and THEN because Mr. Bear wanted to “feel at home” I used one of my much used favs The Hardwood large stamp image to create a forest “tree” feel. I wanted my sweet little bear to “feel at home!”  🙂 Stamped that image in Early Expresso on Crumb cake and cut it down to size with my trusty trimmer and then started layering.  I stamped sweet little bear on a piece of Very Vanilla TWICE.  The reason is I needed to do a little paper craft “surgery” to my little bear, but he is fine and recovered well. I’m a good Momma “nurse.”  FYI.    I snipped his little arm from one piece (ouch!) and then used a thin piece of dimensional to prop up his little arm so he could hold his sign!  He had to hold his little sign so he could broadcast to the world he “loves ya!

The Very Vanilla piece was cropped out using Tags and Labels framelits.  This is a very, very, very versatile framelit set.  The possibilities are endless for these tags and labels frailest. You might be wondering what are framelits?  Well, they are just that.  They “frame” an image of many sizes of images as we have many, many stamp images of all various sizes.  So when you stamp your image, then after that, you pick a “framelit” to frame your image and run it through Mr. Big Shot on your magnetic platform and it cuts it right out!  It’s very cool. Take a look at all of the fabulous Thinlits and Framelits on page 172-173 in beautiful annual catalog! These sweet little things can really “WOW” your projects if you don’t already know this!  wink!

I popped those two framelit pieces up on the trusty ol’ dimensionals to give them a little “umph” and stamped “Love Ya” with our rotary stamp on a scrap of Very Vanilla card stock!  It’s great for so many things you want to say. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used it.   I stamped and then snipped it into two pieces to give a more “casual” look.

DKD wm.IMG_79712

I am really loving our Thick Baker’s Twine, it comes in 5 luscious colors!!  This is Cherry Cobbler (are you hungry for some cherry cobbler right now?) and I loosened the ends to add a little character and casual-ness.

This card be used as a masculine card if you needed it to be one for that special male in your life. Even a brother, a son, a dad!    It could be for anyone, really! He just wants share his love to someone really special.   A sweet little daughter, hubby-O, boyfriend-O, girl friend-O, momma, daddy, co worker, best friend, grand parents, just anyone you are quite fond of!

And of course, I had to use some Cherry Cobbler card stock to have an Envelope liner!  Makes a bit of a special touch, don’t cha think?

Hope you enjoyed this sweet little bear card from our thankful forest friends stamp set today!

Be sure to check out the Holiday catalog to see him up close and personal!  You will love him!

If you have any questions about today’s card, I’m just an email away.  And, your comments are welcome here, too!    Have a great day and wonderful Fall weekend!  Love this fall weather!

As always, from my stampin’ heart to yours, (whether you’re a stamper or not!)

Mr. & Mrs.

Congratulations to the all the NEW Mr. and Mrs.’s out there!  (not sure Mrs.’s is an actual grammatical proper term to use in the plural form, but I did) hope all the great English teachers out there oversee my “new term.”

DKD wm.IMG_778831
Aren’t weddings just wonderful? Two people madly in love wanting to share their commitment to each other for the rest of their lives. It is such an honor to get to be invited and the opportunity to share with them their love and happiness on their very special day.  I love weddings. This card went out to a precious couple, my dear friend’s son handsome son, Ryan and his beautiful wife, Kelsey a few months back and I couldn’t wait to share it with you all! I’m happy to give you the scoop on how this card came together…here ya go!

Debbie Details – also known as Debbie’s (deets!) –  This card was created with a little bling in mind.  So I chose the oh so beautiful Dazzling Diamonds (doesn’t that sound SO “dazzling?” and with the word diamonds in it, too?!)designer series paper (DSP) in the 12″ X 12″ pack, it’s gorgeous!  Page 149, annual catty.  It looks like it is the Silver dsp in the photo, but it’s the dazzling diamonds paper. It is so pretty and just really adds some sweet elegance to this beautiful black card stock and card design. While you cannot “see” too well here in the photo,  it is layered with another smaller piece of black card stock.  I layered that piece with Stampin dimensionals to bring it up of the base and it makes it really special. The stamp set, oh the stamp set….such a beautiful Wedding stamp set and the fonts in the various stamps are just brimming with elegance!  How exciting to give this the lovely couple on their Wedding Day because you know by the time they receive and open it up they will already be “Mr. and Mrs.!”  I can remember back in the dinosaur ages when Tommy and I married (what a lucky guy!) and after the wedding and honeymoon we gratefully opened each and every card with tender loving care, there some of the cards were addressed “Mr. and Mrs.” and I was taken back a bit, because I was NOW a MRS.! What a wonderful feeling that was and is still, a card addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Dean!  (smile!) ~  So, THIS was my thought that when the happily ever after couple saw their envelope with this beautiful Mr. and Mrs.stamped sentiment they would be taken aback, too, like we were all those many years ago.  Wait until I show you the envie!  So genius of me.  yes.

This lovely stamp set is called For the New Two. This card put together fairly quickly.  I used the Lots of Labels frame lits on my magnetic platform to hold them securely in place and zipped them thru Mr. Big Shot! I stamped the whisper white scrap of card stock and then cut it to where I liked it and corner rounded it with our trusty little corner rounder.  He’s so cute.  I wanted this piece to be “rounded” because to coincide with the “rounded” ness of the frame lits.  See it?  I layered them all up with those little dimensionals and punched a darling little black flower with the itty bitties punch (cute, cute punch combo set!), and HAD to put a bit more BLING in the center with a beautiful diamond.  Yes, a beautiful diamond.  Do you like it?  Okay, our beautiful dazzling rhinestones!  I then layered the INSIDE with a whisper white layer and used one of the sentiments for the inside of it to go to this sweet couple.

DKD wm.IMG_779033
BUT, to complete this stunning, “glimmery” card, I lined the envelope with the Dazzling Diamonds designer series paper using my go to Envelope Liners (sort of a must to complete the card) and addressed it with the “Mr. and Mrs.” stamp on the outside and below it I wrote his full name on it.  It was so pretty and I hope they loved receiving it as much as I enjoyed making it for them.  I love “hand stamped,” “hand made” ANYTHING.  Don’t you?  So special. Look, here’s the outside FLAP of the envelope!  Don’t forget that part, too!!  🙂 DKD wm.IMG_778932 Hope you enjoyed today’s card and it really came together quickly, I had an hour to get it done before leaving for the wedding!  That’s how quick it was.

Hey, here ye, here ye!  BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE “WEEKLY DEALS” AT THE TOP OF MY BLOG ON “HOW TO SAVE!”  There are some amazing products on sale this week, they are a really great savings, don’t you love a sale???!!!  Now go give a peek and let me know if you have any questions, I’ll get right back to ya!
