You put the MERRY in my Christmas

DKD wm.IMG_0023 (1)1

Oh my gosh, do we have some cute little faces that need a Santa hat!  The adorable stamp set is called Jolly Friends!  We all have some jolly friends in our lives and you NEED these Jolly Friends in your life this holiday season, you will have fun with them, I think!  Well…I know you will.  I just thought the sunglasses would be just too cute on Mr. Claus, so I had to try it and see.  He’s a “Kool Kat” Santa if I don’t say so myself. I thought once I placed those “cool” lookin’ shades on him, he was just “too cool” for his britches.  Since he was “this cool” he warranted a role in a post.  He’s “stylin” with his Cherry Cobbler Santa hat/cap with his “dazzling diamonds darling” band along with his white pom on the end!  Betcha don’t know where THAT came from, do ya? Well…you’ll have to wait until you read further….  (wink).

DKD wm.IMG_0025 (1)3

The “cool” sentiment and you can take this which ever way or how ever way you wish to, just “fits” his  Kool Kat self.  See the trim at the bottom?  Good eye.  It’s a strip from the gorgeous This Christmas dsp! Page 172. AC.

I used the Santa builder hat PUNCH for his cap/hat (what do you call it, a Santa cap or a Santa hat?)  and the sentiment is from the totally AWESOME Ronald McDonald House charity stamp set. Did you that Stampin’ Up! donates $3.00 for each stamp set sold to the is wonderfully great charity for each stamp set sold.  It has some very, very, very Versatile images and sentiments this year that I think you’ll simply love!!  Page 209 of the Annual catty! You can see it in the navigation bar above, click Annual Catalog in pdf and go to page 209. Then you need to own it, it goes to such a worthwhile cause.  Stampin’ Up! is so awesome and so generous.

I stamped his image in Archival Basic Black (it’s luscious) and Cherry Cobbler.  Check out the embossing background.  It’s a dynamite embossing folder, it is just like a CABLE KNIT SWEATER!    It adds over the top TEXTURE to your card designs!  Guaranteed!  You must have it, peeps. OH…before I forget, did you figure out where the little white pom came from?  You did?  You did not, really??!  If you did, you are one smart cookie. It’s from the Whisper White mini pom pom trim page 179 in the annual catty!  Yep, snipped that little sucker and he found himself a little glue dot baby and bam, he’s found a new “home” on this one KOOL KAT santa’s cap/hat! Hat/cap! Hat! Cap!

Baby girl and Baby boy happiness

DKD wm.IMG_00224

Squeal!  HOW stinkin’ cute is this sweet lil’ baby girl card?  I just love the little carriage, reminds of the days of yesteryear when all the little babes were being strolled around in a carriage like this one.  🙂  As my babies were babies, we didn’t have carriages such as this one, they were on their way to becoming “more advanced” and with more bells and whistles.  BUT, today those sweet little “strollers” are more like mini tractor push alongs!  Goodness, I think I would need to go to the local community college and take a course in HOW to USE them!  Aren’t they awesome, though?  You can take the top carrier out and then use for a car seat, they have built in “stereo speakers” to play the baby lullaby’s and such.  It just amazes me.  So, that’s why this sweet little carriage reminds of the days of yesteryear because of “old” movies I’ve watched over the years, circa 1900’s.

Let’s move along to the card deets!  🙂  I used the THICK whisper white card stock for this card, that stuff is thick and sturdy, let me tell ya!  It’s great for cards with heavy embellishments and for 3-D projects of which you need to place little treats, candies, lotions, etc in.  I layered with Pink Pirouette and stamped the cute little “diaper pins” (does anyone out there still go this route with their babies?) and stamped the carriage in Blushing Bride as well as the pins.  The sentiments were stamped in Blushing Bride as well!  🙂  I used those awesome Circles scallop dies  for the background paper to host the darling carriage.  I love anything scallop.  Even scallop potatoes!

DKD wm.IMG_00203

The sentiments come from the Made With Love stamp set and then the “congratulations” sentiment I used our brand spankin’ NEW Classic Label punch.  Boy, I just love it this year. You can really fit lots and lots of our sentiment stamp sets in that sweet thing.

DKD wm.IMG_00171

We have some sweet friends that just had their new little baby girl and this card gets to travel to that sweet little miracle!  You can also, of course, use our Marina Mist, Soft Sky or even Navy if you want to go “traditional” for a little boy baby card.  All the images stamped on this card are from the Made with Love stamp set!  If you don’t already have it for those new babies that come into your life, you should take a peek.  It’s adorable!!!

Well, that’s it for today, hope you got some inspiration a bit for a sweet little baby card, this works for either boy or girl!

If you have any questions or need anything, just let me know!  I’d love to help you!

As always, happy stampin’ or doing what you love to do and I hope you get some time to do something you love. Me, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE stamping and Stampin’ Up!

Take care,

Debbie

Make a Wish birthday

DKD wm.IMG_0011 (1)1

Today’s card I thought I’d feature a fairly “subtle” design that could accommodate a generic type for both genders.  I used the all NEW Emerald Envy designer series paper along with some Crushed Curry.  The stamp set is from a sweet set called Biggest Birthday Ever!  It’s really a cool little set.  This set comes with a Bundle for a cost savings of 10% and let me say, the framelits are so great.  You can use them with OR without using your stamp set to create a great birthday card.

I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set Party with Cake.  Of course, we can’t “party” without a birthday cake if it’s our birthday!  Right?  I used the Crushed Curry ink for the sentiment to coordinate with the layered scallop square backing.  I know I’m using those great Square framelits a bunch lately, but gosh, they are so useful for most images as they come along in all different sizes. I encourage you to check them out!

Here’s a little close up:

DKD wm.IMG_00131

It’s really a simple card and you certainly could do away with that sweet lil’ bow and it would look nice, too! I don’t want you to forget the sentiment punch I used.  It’s awesome because it fits into lots of sentiments we have and who doesn’t like to punch stuff?

That’s it for my card today, don’t you think it’s pretty simple looking?  It is!  Oh, and I popped everything up on dimensional to give it well…dimension!

Remember, today is the very last day to order the Thoughtful Branches set!  Don’t miss out!

I hope you have a fabulous Wednesday!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

From my Stampin’ Heart to yours,

Debbie

Welcome to your new home

DKD wm.IMG_00012

Do you have any new neighbors that have recently moved into your neighborhood or apartment or condo complex?  If so, here’s a thoughtful gesture of a card to give with a nice warm loaf of chocolate chip banana bread!  I can smell it in my oven now…well I could if I was actually baking it, but….oh well…someday soon, I hope.  🙂

This card and cards like these for welcoming new neighbors are nice to have on hand.  All you then need to do is grab a bouquet of sweet flowers, a bottle of wine or back your specialty bread or a plate full of delicious snickerdoodle cookies, just attach your sweet welcome card and you have a welcome “gift!”

I pulled out my Delightful Djon (I love djon mustard, do you?) Designers pack, snatched up the polka dots and cropped it out with my Circle framelits (new this year!) in same color and stamped the sentiment on Very Vanilla scrap piece in once again, Delightful Djon.  Don’t you think it’s “delightful?”   A more monotone color card for today and very simple, quick and easy.

DKD wm.IMG_99951

These cards would be whiz to make up in different colors of your designers series packs of 12 X 12’s and then you’ll always have them on hand.  Perhaps a co worker just moved in their their abode, or a friend or a family peep.  Super quick and this stamp set is a great one as there’s other very useful and fun images to use, too!
