Happy, Happy Halloween, Everyone! Today is such a FUN day for those little ones and the “BIG” ones for those that celebrate this fun day. I wanted to wish everyone that visits a Happy Trick or Treat kind of day and I hope you don’t get “tricked” and have some fun with TREATS! I love the “chocolate treats!” What’s your favorite?
This was a fun card to put together, I just adore those scalloped NEW square framelits to “frame” our images and our mattes behind those images! This set was from the Spooky Fun stamp set and I used it a ton this month!
I hope you have a GRAND Monday whether you celebrate, and have fun with this holiday with co workers, neighbors, kiddies, or a special someone! We have lots of fond memories (oh my goodness, do we!) of our littles when they were growing up and all the things or people they wanted to “be!” I sewed many, many years of those cute little costumes, had so much fun doing it for them. The only real difference living in Colorado from living in Texas was we never knew what kind of weather we’d be having on Halloween. Some years, freezing and snowy! BUT, that didn’t stop the Dean littles, they were going in the rain, sleet or snow! So lots of years they were bundled up from head to toe in 25 degree and snowing weather…BRRRR….I just shiver thinking of how much the momma and the daddy “froze” but we had a great time and those memories come flooding back today on how much fun the kiddoes had AND all the cavity laden “treats” they got! So, whether you celebrate this holiday or not, I do hope you have a great Monday!!!
GUESS WHAT??? (drum roll, please!) An announcement and it’s going to be a fantastic one for you! New Stitched from the Heart Shapes framelits are coming out tomorrow!

They WILL BE AVAILABLE TO YOU AND TO ALL DEMONSTRATORS tomorrow! I cannot wait to order them! I have ideas like sugarplums dancing in my head with all I will share and make for you! Woo Hoo! Isn’t he pretty cute? He comes to say Hello to you today from the once AGAIN Cookie Cutter Halloween STAMP SET! I am getting so much use from this sweet and cute set this season! He’s the mummy that can be punched out with our Cookie Cutter Punch, brand NEW in the Holiday Catalog this year!
I used Pumpkin Pie base card stock along with a layer from the HALLOWEEN NIGHT SPECIALTY Designer Series Paper on page 51 of the Holiday catty! It’s a really thicker piece of paper and the dots are sort of a silvery/white -ish color on the black background! Outstanding in person!
I used the Banner Frame lits to crop out the banners, punched out my Mummy guy and in the punch also comes the cute BOW TIE! The oh so small sentiment “BOO” comes from our Suite SEASONS stamp set! You could almost miss seeing it in this set as it’s small, and it fits PERFECTLY here! LOVE it so much!
I tied the “halloween twine” around the banner and the card! Done! I think it’s pretty cute, hope you think so, too!
Here he is with no Orange/Black twine wrapped around the card and tied in a bow. Maybe you’d rather it be without it?

Another day to be thankful for and in everything that we cherish and perhaps take for granted each day, this card may be a reminder to us all for the life we do have. While it is not perfect, there are blessings to be grateful for. This particular stamp set called SUITE SEASONS from the Holiday Catalog, page 43 offers sentiments that expresses feelings that you may find useful for your family and friends. This sentiment will make for a great Thanksgiving table setting favor. Just a subtle reminder to be thankful for our family, friends, furry friends, and just for whatever it is you feel thankful. Just a subtle reminder. I will be sending this card to someone that I am thankful for to let them that they are very special to me and while giving and feeling thankful for my life here on on this beautiful planet, I am thankful for the friendship they have given me.
My card base is in Very Vanilla, with the oh so lovely and lush designer series paper from the Petals and Paisley Pack page 47 of the Holiday Catalog! You can view it online here at my blog! Click on Catalogs and see the Holiday catalog! It’s gorgeous and you are all loving it! If you haven’t had a chance to see all its beauty and want a hard copy to have and to hold, email me, I’ll get one sent your way! 🙂
Here is a close up:
See how pretty the paper is? 🙂 I embossed the sentiment in Crushed Curry and wrapped a beautiful piece of the Mint Macaron ribbon around it to offer some added interest! Can you think of anyone that you feel this way about or even anyone that you don’t even know, but inside you feel they are hero’s in your heart? I can think of one and then I think of many. This well meaningful stamp set from which one of the images I used on this card today, is from My Hero STAMP SET. Page 209 in our Annual Catalog and there are amazing images in this set to fit many Holidays we celebrate here. This is a special stamp set because in case you’re not familiar Stampin’ Up! the company I am an independent demonstrator with, every year designs and offers in the Annual Catalog a featured stamp set of which $3 from every set purchased by both customers and demonstrators is donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Stampin’ Up! and their demonstrators donate time and money to support the House. SU has contributed to date over $1.5 Million dollars to RHMC and their network of local RMHC Chapters throughout the U.S. It’s a wonderful way to spend time with the families, coming together to create and make cards for their loved ones receiving medical treatment far from home.
Demonstrators from all of the United States volunteer their time at the Houses by bringing card supplies to offer some creative time for the families. It is appreciated by the families and the recipients enjoy their wonderful cards given them. It brings such joy for everyone involved and SU is so very generous to this awesome charity.
I used this image out of the set today because when we all stop to think on it, we surely can think of someone that is or was our #1 Hero. My dear sweet hubby poo, is my Number 1 Hero! I used to always tell him, “you’re my hero” when he did something quite extraordinary for me in the way of my “honey do” lists or something that was near and dear to my heart. He is MY hero in life because of the the man he is and the father he is to the young adults we have. I could go on for many days describing ways of why he is, but I can also think of the BRAVE women and men in our incredibly amazing military that put their lives on the line for our freedom each and every day. They are HEROES. My heart is so very thankful for what they sacrifice for us.
This card is for them. I can also think of all the Law Enforcement and the FireFighters that also risk their lives to protect the citizens of our Country each and every day. Leaving their families in hopes of returning later that night. Wow. My eyes well up. So many have fallen in the line of duty lately that it grips my heart to the core. These men and women are ALL #1 HEROES. I wish I could make millions of this card to send out or pass out to show how much they are appreciated even if it is just a card with heartfelt words.
I didn’t really exactly mean to write a novel today (thanks to those that stuck it out), but I couldn’t help it. I really have so many heroes to thank and to acknowledge that it would take way longer than these few paragraphs. I think you should take a peek on page 209 of our Annual Catalog at this stamp set. If you have it in your home to create with, I think you’ll enjoy it. I love that this image I used today fits into our new punch! Makes is super quick and super easy.
I used Night of Navy for the card base, designer series paper from the Moroccan pack and Very Vanilla for the Lots of Labels framelits. For a wee bit of accent, I used the very pretty Very Vanilla ribbon with the gold glittery insert to add some contrast. I really like it, I haven’t used that ribbon too much, but I will because it is so pretty and I love the width of it, too. Not too wide.
Can you see it here better? I love the Delightful Djon and the Night of Navy together. It’s classy and sharp.
I hope you take a look and get this set. You’ll be happy you did! Thanks for stopping and sorry for the rambling of my thoughts behind my card today, but I just couldn’t help it. 🙂 Hugs to you all!
If you have any questions about today’s card, just let me know! Feel free to click on the image below to make this sweet set a part of your life! 🙂
Happy Wednesday everyone! Mucho hugs and love!
Debbie
