It’s the Little Moments

DKD wm.IMG_81563

The little moments……in our very busy lives sometimes it is difficult to stop for a second and just enjoy some precious, sweet time with someone we don’t get to spend some time with…even if it for a short time that it would take…we somehow cannot find one single minute to do so.  Just think about that for minute….who in your life does this pertain to for you?

While you’re thinking on that, here are some quick details for this simple, but meaningful card of mine.

Debbie’s Details:

Base of my card- Early Expresso standard A2 card (5-1/2″ X 4-1/4″) scored at 4-1/4″

I layered Crumb Cake atop EE. Then cut another layer of Very Vanilla card stock and tore the edges, in which I then “sponged” the edges in Early Expresso to give a burnt, rustic look.

I LOVE the Vintage Leaves stamp set.  LOVE.  I simply cropped out three of these leaves with our Leaflets Framelits on page 172 of our Annual catalog.  These are just beautiful shapes of different leaves.

Wondering about the card stock I used?  Well…I used the NEW Corrugated Paper in our Annual catalog. Comes 12″ X 12.”  I sponged EE all around the edges to add some dimension.  I also sponged the Crumb Cake, too.  I put them together (yes, togetherness is cool) using Tombow glue.

I stamped my sentiment on the bottom using my Stamp a MA jig!  Perfect placement every time. This little “gadget” tool needs to be amongst your tools of choice.  I tell ya, it is perfect for placing images as well as sentiments when you’re in a tricky situation.   Ask me how to use it, if you do not already know.  :)The sentiment comes from Watercolor Wings stamp set.  It is a stunning stamp set. I adore this particular image for some many reasons.

After all put in place, I grabbed my Thick Very Vanilla baker’s twine and Linen thread twine and made a sweet little bow.  If you are not a bow person per se for your card creations, you could always place the linen thread around you fingers a few times and place atop the leaf stems and put a pretty vintage button on top!  Voila, your card is completed!  Aren’t you happy it only takes about 6-1/2 minutes max to make this??

Remember my question from earlier?  You’re so smart.  Well…carve out some time with someone that matters a lot to you…and just do that…simply spend a few moments  with that person.  Then leave them with this card that you’ve written words from your heart. This will become a treasure to them for many years to come….

Hope everyone had a terrific weekend!

Happy stampin from my heart to yours (and if you don’t stamp YET, ask me how, it’s SO much FUN to give away cards from your heart and hands!!

It’s time for Halloween!

BOO! I have been working on my Halloween collection of cards for an upcoming event and wanted to share this one today with you. It is actually a “CASE” card.  That means copy and share everything that was on a darling gift bag presented in our Holiday catalog on pg. 49!  Isn’t he adorable?  So, I thought I would just make him for a Halloween card to show you that you, too, can make this cute little guy for your Halloween cards!  He’s the friendliest little “witch” OWL I have ever seen, don’t you agree? DKD wm.IMG_81521 Debbie’s Details:

  • Top layer I used the Happy Haunting Washi Tape on page 47 of the Holiday catalog.  I love washi tape.  It’s a decorative removable tape that you can use for your  projects.  I love it for the very reason, it is removable. So you can reposition it.  This is what I used for the top part of my card.
  • I used the Howl-O-Ween treat stamp set for all the images here.  This awesome set comes in a Bundle at a 15% savings to you!!  All the images are cut out with Mr. Big Shot and placed on the white card piece with dimenionals!
  • I covered the clothes pin embellishment with part of the washi tape and folded it over to fit.
  • The silver sequin ribbon is just the right amount of “sparkly” for this cute card and of course, I used the Rich Razzleberry lovely ribbon to match the witche’s hat!
  • The BOO cut out is in the framelit set, too! Check it out!

DKD wm.IMG_81532 I used the awesome Thick white card stock that is new this year for my base and it is so GREAT!  Thicker and holds embellishments so nicely. Are you ready to start making your Halloween cards to give out to your friends, teachers, neighbors, co workers, hairdressers, dentist, doctor, librarian, the list is endless??!!!  He sure is cute and you can make this card up any way you want to using whatever you wish to! The framelits are a must I believe. If you have any questions or want to leave a comment, you are most welcome to!  Right below this post! Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!! Let me know if you need a Holiday catalog or the Annual catalog as well.  Happy Day! From my stampin’ heart to yours ~ Debbie

Halloween FaBOOlous!

Welcome to My Stampin’ Heart ~ So glad you stopped by today. I am so very excited to be a part of Mary’s Sunday featured card picks this week.  I am honored by her sweet generosity to showcase the PALS card creations to you.  Thank you, Mary, for all your support and great leadership, you’re a sweetheart!  🙂

Happy Halloween, FaBOOlous! That’s you, I’m talkin’ about!

DKD wm.IMG_80631

I’ll confess. I am not one to send out Halloween cards. I used to many years ago, if they were CUTE ones, not scary ones.  They had to be “cute” in my mind and then I would absolutely snag a few and send out.   I love when Stampin’ Up! comes out with their adorably “CUTE” images for Halloween!  I just love’em.  Then I get to have fun making MY very own!!  You can, too!

Debbie’s Details:

  • This is a standard A2 card – The Halloween designers series paper is beautiful. The background paper is from this stack.  It’s in our new 2015 Holiday Catalog! Have you seen it yet?  You don’t want to miss this great catty!  Our dsp has patterns on BOTH the front and back so you get lots of bang for your buck.
  • I used the Deco Labels Collection frame lits on Very Vanilla card stock and Tangelo Twist card stock to cut those lovely layers. There are 4 of them in the group and they “nest” on top of each other. Love them!!
  • I stamped my “FaBOOlous” image from Six Sayings stamp set on page 51 of the Holiday catalog. This is a Host set on page 51 of the all New Holiday catalog!  This set features upcoming holidays!  Such a great set for all sorts of cards for the holidays! The fonts are beautiful!   I used Very Vanilla card stock (scrap piece I had) and cut the width I wanted (made sure it would extend across the framelits to fit my image)because it’s a longer one.
  • The “you are so” came from the stamp set -All Boxed up – I use this stamp A LOT. I placed a piece of clear tape across the “amazing” word and then stamped in Basic Black ink. TIP-you want to remove the tape from the “amazing” word before you stamp the image after you’ve inked it.  It’s so great to separate words or images of stamps by using this technique.  You can make your stamp sets go a long way this way.
  • The “happy halloween” image comes from my trusty And Many More stamp set page 105 of the annual catalog- talk about a very versatile stamp set for so many sentiment uses, this one is GREAT.
  • The cute little bow is our Very Vanilla THICK Baker’s twine (annual catty) and I “fringed” the ends.  This THICK twine comes in some great fun colors to use on your projects to give a little bit more of a special “touch!”
  • I used my dimensional (those things that POP up your card pieces to give the height) for all the top pieces including the FaBoolous sentiment!  Those dimensionals are “spongy” and just look so nice if you want show dimension to your cards and projects. That’s why they’re called “Dimensionals” haha. A concept.  🙂

DKD wm.IMG_79473

This is such a SIMPLE card to whip up.  I couldn’t forget to use my envelope liners to cut a piece of Tangelo Twist card stock to fit inside the flap!  Makes it a bit more special I think.

Hope this card gets you into the Halloween card making mood!  As simple as this one is to make, why not think about sending out some Halloween cards this year?  Will brighten someone’s day, I can guarantee it!

Thanks ever so much for stopping in today. I love it when you do.  Any questions or comments is great!  Have a great day!!

Kindness Matters

DKD wm.IMG_81403Kind deeds, kind thoughts, kind sweetness from others melts my heart.  This card is heading out to a very, very kind and thoughtful friend of mine.  What a sweetheart.   So, I want to share with you this card that is a lot of fun to make. 🙂 I LOVE my PUNCHES!!  They are quick, they’re fun, and they can sure pack a “PUNCH!” (no pun intended, ha!)   Let me get on with the details for my card today:

Debbie’s Details:

  • I wanted to use one of the new IN Colors for 2015-2017 for this one.  It is Delightful Dijon!  I think it’s a great color to use if you like “vintage” stamping.  I paired it with Basic Black and Whisper White.
  • The punch for the flowers is the Fun Flower punch!  I stamped the beautiful flower from the Beautiful Bunch stamp set.  Isn’t it awesome?!!  It’s about a 2-1/2″ span from tip to tip.  There’s no tiny anything to this one.   I wanted to showcase a “bunch” since after all it’s from the Beautiful Bunch stamp set. I popped them up on dimensionals (2 a piece) and I used the 1/2″ punch for the centers.  I ran them through my Big Shot die cutting machine with the Softly Falling Textured embossing folder to give some texture.  Of course, texture. 🙂
  • I ran the very top layer in Delightful Dijon (it’s SO delightful!) through the top of it ONLY with the same Softly Falling embossing folder as well!  It “coordinates” with the those cute little black centers in my flower. And remember I embossed those little tinys, too!  You can’t see them in the photo, but they are there!
  • I EMBOSSED my sentiment in white embossing powder onto the black card stock and it is really bright white and stands out.  Exactly what I wanted.  Punched that sentiment piece out with the great little Lable Bracket punch.  It is a great shape, I think. And it fits a ton of our sentiments and images, so thank you Stampin’ Up! 🙂
  • I used the BRAND NEW in the Holiday catalog three way punch!! Have you seen it yet? Page 18.  Curvy Corner Trio Punch, 3 punches in ONE!!  Isn’t that awesome sauce??! It punches ribbon slats!  Yes it does.  It sure does.  I punched two on both ends of the final layer and ran the beautiful Basic Black 3/8″ stitched satin ribbon through it to add a bit of accent to the overall card.
  • DKD wm.IMG_81272
  • That completes my card for today.
  • Be kind.  It does really matter.  Makes us feel good about ourselves and all the blessings we have to be grateful for.
  • Hope you liked my card, it was lots of fun to make and even more the love and gratefulness for the special friend it is for.
  • As always, if you have any questions, let me know! Your comments are welcome, too, you knew that though.  🙂
  • Love hearing from you!  Don’t forget to look at the awesome Weekly Deals this week up at the top of my blog and take a peek at the Holiday catty, too, while you’re there!  Fun stuff!
  • Hope you have a wonderful weekend, enjoy the leaves starting to turn their beautiful fall colors and hope you get to stamp, or craft, or just simply have fun creating whatever your heart desires!

Happy stampin! From my heart to yours (even if you’re not a stamper!) Debbie

Sending Condolences

Sympathy cards are quite difficult to make.  They just are.  We all know the meaning of them and we want to send our heartfelt thoughts expressing our sympathy, it is not easy.  I have found that having a few on hand works best for me.  It’s a bit easier in the fact that it is not for anyone at this very moment which would be truly sad to make (but, of course, I would), and it is not for a friend’s loved one that has recently passed.    While it is so very sad and difficult, written words can say so much to the recipient and in a special card that you have given much thought in your mind to make, is one way to express our heartfelt feelings to someone.   Sympathy cards also give something tangible that the recipient can go back, read, hold and treasure your words of heartfelt thoughts for days and even years after their loss.   Today’s card uses the beautiful Butterfly thinlits on page 172 of the Annual Catalog and the ever so sweet and delicate Fluttering embossing folder. Here it is up close.

Debbie’s Details:

  • I used the beautiful Soft Sky as my card base and layered on Early Expresso, then a layer of soft sky using the Fluttering embossing folder.
  • Then I used Mr. Big Shot die cutting machine to die cut the Butterfly thinlit butterflies in both Soft Sky and Early Expresso card stock. I placed the blue sky butterfly atop the early expresso butterfly with those awesome little dimensionals, I cut a thin strip off. Then I brought up the sides of the soft sky butterfly to give some dimension.  I wanted this beautiful and delicate Butterfly to be the focal point.  Butterflies, to me, are peaceful, gentle, fragile, and delicate.  Perfect for my sympathy card today.
  • I used my very much used Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set for my sentiment. There is a sentiment teeny tiny for just about every occasion!  It is the right size for what I wished to create.  I punched the sentiment out with the Word Window punch. This the BEST punch to use for the smaller sentiment sizes like the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.
  • The final touch was to be the beautiful pearls in the center of this pretty butterfly. I thought they added a sweet and delicate touch to complete my card. This card is so pretty in person.  Pictures sometimes don’t do justice. You know?

IMG_8105

My card today is very simple.  Even better, it doesn’t take long at all to complete.  There are so many uses for these gorgeous Butterfly thinlits for your paper and card projects.  Spring, Birthdays, Thinking of you’s, garden party cards, for a child’s teacher, just so many possibilities! Take look at them below in the supply list and if you don’t have them, reconsider. 🙂
