Today’s card features the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set that I wanted to make up a bunch of cards to have on hand with this heartfelt sentiment, “Sending you HUGS.”   I don’t think you can ever have enough of a card like this to have in your stash for those that you just want to send “just because.”

In this set, I wasn’t quite sure HOW I was going to use the round stamp with the “fringe.”  THEN all of a sudden a “light bulb” went off and I thought, “why not make my own background design using it?”  You know how that sometimes goes, you are in a quandary thinking about something, then all of a sudden, it just hits your brain in a subtle little wave and voila, an IDEA happens??!!!!  That was me today.

Here’s the Debbie’s Details:

  • Vanilla Card Stock for Base of Card
  • Various ink pads of all colors
  • Sweet & Sassy Framelits (because you ARE Sweet & Sassy!)
  • Stamps!

I took the ROUND stamp and just started stamping all over the front of card base!  FIRST, I stamped OFF on a scrap piece of paper the round stamp, stamp onto card stock once, then inked it back up and stamped ON TOP of what I just stamped to create an interesting “design.”  I wanted a little of the “light” fringe to show.  It is almost as if you’re two step stamping.  This is a technique I will show in a later post.  🙂

Next I stamped the “sending you” and right below inked up the HUGS stamp and stamped.  I used another stamp in this set looks like “rain drops” sort of and stamped off again with this stamp.  Then I went back to the ROUND stamp and stamped in ink pad and then stamped OFF and then onto card stock.

Sweet & Sassy Framelit:  I die cut out TWO of the hearts, the largest one and then the next largest one with the stamped images.

  • Placed those awesome little dimensional on the back of all the hearts (be generous with these because they really ADD dimensional when you do, otherwise if you “skimp” your die cut piece will be “limp” or just will NOT stand up away from the card base. I think you know what I’m talkin’ about, but just add lots of them!

Then I wanted to show you what a “stepped up” look could be by using the bows!!  Isn’t that tiny one adorable?  So sweet.  I also used the Peekaboo Peach crushed looking ribbon to make a little bow so you could see the TWO different looks!

AND here’s this darling one!

Cute or what??!!  🙂  You can also see a closer look at the stamping/stampin OFF look, too!

Here they are standing ALL proud!  The sky is THE limit for simple cards like these by using your imagination with ANY color you want, adding ANY embellishment you want, like enamel dots we carry, twine, punched out flowers in coordinating colors to match your card stock, like I said, the sky is the limit!  What is so FUN, is this was a QUICK and simple card to make!  Makes a great gift for a hostess gift to give or to teachers, friends, neighbors, the sky is the limit on that, too!  🙂
